Ontario’s largest blues festival returns this weekend to Port Credit.
The Southside Shuffle, now entering its 21st year, is a showcase for blues and roots music that features dozens of musicians throughout the three-day event which begins today (September 6) and runs through Sunday.
Founded by Chuck Jackson, current lead singer for the Downchild Blues Band, the focus of the event is to keep the blues alive and well and it does that with a series of showcases along Lakeshore Rd., Port Credit Memorial Park and various clubs throughout the weekend.
While many of the events are free along the street and the park, it will cost $10 to see the headliners in the park on Friday, and $15 for Saturday and Sunday. Tonight, the Justin Saldino Band as well as Myles Goodwyn (of April Wine) Band are featured and on Saturday it’s a tribute to The Who? with the band Who Are You? Sunday, Downchild closes out the festival in the park.
