The Downtown Brampton Farmers’ Market is returning soon to Main Street North and South (between Nelson Street and Wellington Street) on Saturdays throughout the spring and summer. The market, now in its 32nd year, will opening June 16 and run until Sept. 1.
The market offers a broad selection of produce, food items and crafts from more than 50 vendors, as well as entertainment and family-friendly activities.Operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year also marks the 4th year of the Mount Pleasant Village Market, which runs 4-8 p.m. every Thursday evening from June 21 to Oct. 4 in the Mount Pleasant Village Square at 100 Commuter Drive. Vendors set up tents to sell a variety of local produce, baked goods, prepared foods and hand-made products, which transforms the square into a festive marketplace.
On Saturdays, from Sept. 8 to Nov. 3, the 2018 Harvest Market will take place. This year, Harvest Market offers vendors and shoppers an extended time frame of nine weeks to both showcase and shop. Of special note is the new location for the market: Rosalea Park (Ken Whillans Drive and Church Street East). Operating hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Relocation to Rosalea Park, from last year’s location in the downtown core, is due to the Downtown Reimagined construction starting in the fall. The project will replace aging infrastructure and transform the area surrounding the historic Four Corners to better accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, enhance amenities and beautify the streetscape.
