Both Mississauga and Brampton will be ushering in the New Year with downtown public celebrations.
In Mississauga, activities take place in Celebration Square beginning at 8 p.m. when “New Year’s Eve Junior” starts with a bunch of fun activities, culminating with an early countdown for the youngsters at 9 p.m. After that, musical acts with take the stage with headliners, Shaun Frank and Delaney Jane, appearing at 11 p.m. Midnight will be celebrated with a fireworks display.
In Brampton, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, there will be free skating, marshmallow roasting and music at Gage Park. At city hall, from 7 p.m. to midnight, there will be a “Kid’s Dance Party” as well as a photo booth and a display presented by Hometown Hockey. In Garden Square, the night will be filled with music with a number of acts including headliners, The Sheepdogs. There will be two displays of fireworks at the Rose Theatre, at 9 p.m. and again at midnight.
