Even with star players Michael McLeod, Nic Hague, and Jacob Moverare graduating after last season, the Mississauga Steelheads still have plenty of firepower. Cole Carter is helping power a highly-potent offence. After 13 games, the Steelheads forward leads his team with 12 goals and 18 points.

Florida Panthers prospect Owen Tippett and future Edmonton Oiler Ryan McLeod help bolster a Steelheads team with far more rookies than in past seasons.

Carter, now in his overage year, was acquired from the Kitchener Rangers in January. He was brought in to help his team make a deep playoff run, but that was short lived as Mississauga got ousted by the Barrie Colts in the first round. The Orleans, Ontario native still proved his value, picking up five points in six playoff games.

Earlier this season Carter was named the sixth captain in Steelheads history. The newly-appointed Mississauga leader will continue to try and lead his team by example.

The Steelheads are in action next on Oct. 28 against the Otters. The puck drops at 4 p.m. in Erie.
