Crack Me Up Comedy has been, not just a staple of local comedy in Brampton
for over five years, but the only outlet for local comedians and fans of comedy in Brampton.
This past March, comedians from the club were featured at the Rose Theatre as part of the This is Brampton series, and a second show had to be added to keep up with demand. This success led to an agreement to produce more shows with the Theatre.
This September, the group makes good on this with the Crack Me Up Comedy Festival, a three night event from September 11-14. For this event, organizers are bringing in headliners from around the country to share the festival spotlight with local talent.
The first night on September 11 features the Rank N Vile show at the Rose Studio Theatre. Regarded as one of the dirtiest touring shows in North America, the evening features Kenny Robinson and Darren Frost as well as Brampton’s own, Terry Clement.
Friday the 13th of September, somewhat ironically, brings Clean-ish Comedy to the stage at the Cyril Clark Library Theatre. This lineup features well known comedian Elvira Kurt telling jokes you can bring your teens or your parents out to hear.
Closing the festival on September 14th is the Crack Me Up Comedy Gala performance. The festival takes over the Rose’s Mainstage with a packed evening of laughs. The show will be headlined by Netflix star Ryan Belleville, hosted by Crack Me Up producer Neil Griffin and features Precious Chong (Tommy’s daughter), Marito Lopez, Paul McCallum, Terry Clement, Jeff Elliott, Paul Haywood, and Munish Joshi.
Tickets for the festival can all be found here.
