Boxing returns to Mississauga’s Hershey Centre on Dec. 16, with a fan favourite taking to the ring in the main event.
Brandon Cook (18-1-0 11 knockouts) looks to grab two title belts when he takes on Hector Carlos Santana (26-8-0 20 knockouts) from Argentina.
Although from Ajax, Cook has found the surroundings of Mississauga to his liking as he has gone undefeated at the Hershey Centre, winning 13 times since making his professional debut in 2011.
With both the vacant International Boxing Association Intercontinental super welterweight title and the World Boxing Association-North American Boxing Association super welterweight belts on the line, Cook is looking for a bit of a comeback as he suffered his first loss in September.
The bout is one of eight scheduled for the night, which will also feature Mohammed Abedeen of Toronto square off with Argentina’s Jose Aubel for the International Boxing Association America’s lightweight title.
The first match starts at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster and at the door.
