Plans are underway for Caledon Community Services 20th Anniversary Gala that will be held on December 2. Flato Home for
the Holidays Gala, a benefit in support of CCS, will celebrate the 2017 holiday season in Caledon in high style
and is shaping up once again to be the must-attend event of the season.
Shakir Rehmatullah, President of Flato, believes his company is more than a home builder; their vision is to be
a true community builder. Flato is the Platinum Sponsor for the second year of a three-year commitment. This
landmark community event supports CCS’ forty-six-year history of providing exemplary service to residents of
all ages from across Caledon.
The evening will feature live entertainment, a tantalizing menu and open bar. Many special
surprise touches are planned and the wildly successful Celebration of Trees Auction is returning.
New this year is, “It Takes a Village,” featuring gift baskets celebrating villages and hamlets from across
Caledon’s Community of Communities. The event will be held in the ‘heart’ of Caledon at the main Royal Ambassador banquet hall which offers an enchanting venue.
Anne Thompson, returning Volunteer Chair, believes this Gala will be extraordinary. “I’ve been involved in the
plans for the second year in a row and feel, with the support of our sponsors, together with this talented
committee working with the staff, we are set to produce an amazing event. Twentieth anniversary Gala for an
agency that has been serving Caledon for over 46 years is something for all of us to celebrate together.”
Home for the Holidays Gala has a rich history, starting in 1998 and is aptly named in honour of the earliest
Gala’s that were hosted in people’s homes. This new re-envisioned Gala honours and celebrates both the
history and the supporter’s past and present and is being designed to be an experience equally as warm and
welcoming for every guest to enjoy.
“We thank Mr. Rehmatullah and Flato Developments Inc. for their generosity in supporting the Caledon
community through Caledon Community Services. Their support will help ensure that services to Caledon
residents can be delivered throughout the year. Support of our Gala is the gift that keeps on giving,” says
Monty Laskin, CEO, Caledon Community Services.
