Expected heavy rainfall has prompted a warning about potential flooding in Mississauga today.
Environment Canada says 25-40 mm of rain is expected and at times very heavy. According to statements issues by the both the Credit Valley Conservation Authority and the Toronto and Region Conversation Authority, the result could lead to minor flooding in low-lying areas.
The City of Mississauga has issued a bulletin telling residents to be careful along rivers and creeks and to keep children and pets away from all areas that could quickly fill into fast flowing water such as culverts, bridges and dams.
If a heavy rainfall does occur, the City also suggests that all pets be brought inside.
To report flooding you can call 311 and as always, you can call 911 for health and injury assistance.
