Get into the holiday spirit this December at the Living Arts Centre

This December, the Living Arts Centre (LAC) is offering something for everyone with its line up of holiday performances.

Jumpstart the holidays with Tartan Terrors Christmas at LAC’s RBC Theatre.  The show will combine both Celtic and classic Christmas sounds with traditional folklore, dance, and humour. For an evening that will warm the heart and make you laugh, be sure to check it out. Showtime Dec. 6 and 7 at 7:30 pm. Tickets $30.00 – $50.00.

Also at RBC Theatre, The Mississauga Children’s Choir presents Peace on Earth. Established in 1980, the Mississauga Children’s Choir prides itself in its high caliber vocal technique, musicianship, artistry, and community-building. Peace on Earth will get you into a holiday mood with an afternoon of heartwarming music and stories of the festive season. Showtime Dec. 9 at 3:00 pm. Tickets $25.00.

The State Ballet Theatre of Russia brings the beloved ballet, The Nutcracker, to the Hammerson Hall stage. This classic ballet is a charming tale of holiday adventure that follows a little girl’s journey through a fantasy world of fairies, princes, toy soldiers, and an army of mice. Filled with spectacular sets and beautiful costumes, The Nutcracker is sure to bring joy as you celebrate the holiday season. Show times Dec. 10 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets $50.00 – $85.00.

The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra (MSO), along with the Mississauga Festival Chamber Choir, take the stage at Hammerson Hall to present Highlights from Messiah. The concert will highlight Handel’s masterpiece, Messiah, which includes the iconic Hallelujah Chorus. Showtime Dec. 16 at 8:00 pm. Tickets $30.00 – $45.00.

The MSO is back on the Hammerson Hall stage along with the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra and guest youth choir “Resonance” to perform A Merry Little Christmas. Suitable for children of all ages, this family concert will include holiday favourites such as Sleigh Ride, Joy to the World, The 12 Days of Christmas, the Hockey Night in Canada theme song, and movie themes. Also, visit the free Long and McQuade  Instrument Petting Zoo in the Atrium. Showtime Dec. 17 at 3:00 pm. Tickets $30.00 – $45.00.

An Orillia Opera House Production presents the favourite Dicken’s holiday story A Christmas Carol at the RBC Theatre. Experience Scrooge’s magical, musical and mysterious journey in search of the true meaning of Christmas. Bring the whole family along to rediscover the spirit of the holidays. Showtime Dec. 17 at 7:00 pm. Tickets $30.00 – $50.00.
