Kids will be able to get up close with live salamanders, reptiles and birds of prey during an interactive display at the Belfountain 2017 Salamander Festival taking place Sept. 30. Other activities include Tie a Fly with the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club and a Kids Eco Zone Activity Centre. The kid-friendly event takes place at Belfountain Conservation Area in Caledon.
Parents can look forward to an artisan’s market, the silent auction offering up luxury golf and spa packages, and live music from Kewl Fusion. The food court will have BBQ delicacies, squash soup, baked potato, pastries and warm apple cider.
You won’t want to miss the pie eating contest and free yoga sessions.
Belfountain Community Organization and Credit Valley Conservation are co-sponsoring the event in partnership with the Belfountain Village Church, Belfountain Public School, and the Town of Caledon. Money raised will support local environmental awareness projects.
The festival runs from 10am until 4pm.
