Mississauga residents are invited to participate in a telephone session on the proposed 2019 budget with Mayor Crombie and city senior staff. Residents can choose from sessions taking place on Jan. 16 (city-wide) and Jan. 22 (Wards 3 and 7). Region of Peel staff will also participate in the city-wide session.
A random selection of residents will receive a telephone call in advance with an invitation to attend one of the upcoming sessions and a second telephone call just before the session begins.
“Telephone budget sessions are a great opportunity to ask a question and hear about the city’s proposed budget,” said Gary Kent, corporate services commissioner and chief financial officer. “Anyone who receives a call and does not wish to participate can simply hang up.”
Residents can also register to participate in the telephone budget sessions. In addition, the city-wide session will be available to watch online.
Information about the city’s budget is available at mississauga.ca/budget. Other ways to participate in the budget process include sending your questions via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, attending a budget committee meeting in person, watching them online live or receiving updates on Twitter and Facebook.
