On June 12, the City of Mississauga honoured more than 100 volunteers through the Civic Recognition Program. Launched in 1992, the program, so far, has recognized more than 4,000 volunteers and achievers from the community.
“Volunteering is a selfless act that truly makes a difference to our quality of life,” said Ward 5 Councillor Carolyn Parrish, who co-emceed the event. “I have to tell you, I’m absolutely proud to be here. You are wonderful. It is volunteers who make up the compassionate fabric of our city.”
“Over the years, our dedicated volunteers have proven that our city is a truly caring community that believes in helping others,” added Mayor Bonnie Crombie.
