Recently at Mississauga Council, MiWay was recognized for earning a prestigious leadership award from the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) for excellence on their youth marketing campaign, On MiWay.
“We’re honoured to receive this award and I’m proud of our MiWay marketing team for their innovative work to engage youth during the busy back-to-school period,” said Geoff Marinoff, Director, Transit. “This is the second time in five years MiWay has been recognized with a national award from CUTA for our marketing and communications efforts.”
The goal of MiWay’s campaign was to increase transit ridership among youth, while educating parents about MiWay. The campaign focused on the emotional reasons to take a bus, such as getting to the fun things youth like to do – such as the mall, concert or skate park.
CUTA is a member-based association that supports public transit as the core of integrated mobility across Canada. They do this by providing members with the resources, networking, training, events, data, research and advocacy needed to support their success in the industry. Every year, CUTA presents the Corporate Leadership and Individual Leadership Awards. The awards are presented at its annual conference in the fall. This year’s conference was held in Calgary.
