Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to sport in Brampton? Until June 15, nominations are being accepted for next year’s Brampton Sports Hall of Fame inductees.

The four categories of membership into the Hall of Fame are athletes, builders (all members other than athletes), veterans (either athletes or builders who have concluded their careers) and teams.

Founded in 1979, the hall honours the history of sport in the City of Brampton and, in particular, those persons who have made outstanding contributions and achievements in the development of sport. It also collects, preserves, researches, exhibits and promotes all objects, images and histories deemed to be significant to the development of sport in Brampton.

In 1999, the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame was relocated to what is now known as the Powerade Centre. The relocation has had a positive and profound effect on both the visibility and stature of the local sports museum. It is now being seen annually by tens of thousands of visitors who attend the many quality attractions the centre has to offer.
