Mayor Patrick Brown and Councillors recently unveiled the newly refurbished Lester B. Pearson (LBP) during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Visitors had the opportunity to meet with architects Lebel & Bouliane, enjoy a performance from This is Brampton, and explore the upgraded City facility.
The remarkable 400-seat venue now boasts enhanced accessibility, health and safety features, upgraded state-of-the-art technical equipment, completely accessible back stage facilities including a universal washroom, a conveniently located quick change room and spacious dressing rooms. A redesigned lobby area, not only makes LBP a more appealing venue, but also serves as a community gathering place for all visitors to the Civic Centre. The $2.6 million revitalization project, which began in December 2018, is an example of the City’s commitment to art, culture and community spaces in Brampton.
LBP has been home to performing arts groups, schools, education programs and community organizations in Brampton since 1973.
