A series of open houses will give Peel residents a peek into the plans for the Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. The plan includes a 20 km stretch of rapid transit that will run along Hurontario St. from Port Credit into the edge of Brampton, with 22 stops along the way.
The $1.4 billion projected is funded by the Government of Ontario with contributions from the City of Mississauga. The project is co-ordinated through Metrolinx, the provincial agency overseeing transit infrastructure in southern Ontario. Construction is set to begin later this year, with an eye to completion by 2022.
The open houses are designed to give the pubic an opportunity to view the plans for the LRT as well as to speak with representatives of Metrolinx.
