Jane McMullan, Chair of the William Osler Health System (Osler) Board of Directors recently announced the resignation of Dr Brendan Carr, Osler President and CEO. In December, Dr Carr will take on the role of President and CEO of the Nova Scotia Health Authority, in his home town of Halifax.
“We are grateful for Dr Carr’s time with us, and we know patients, families and the community will benefit from his legacy for years to come,” said McMullan. “We wish him the best as he pursues this exciting opportunity in his home province of Nova Scotia.”
Dr Carr has made a significant impact at Osler since his arrival in August 2017. His highlights include the development of Osler’s new five-year strategic plan, Going Beyond for Healthier Communities; serving as a strong advocate of partnerships and system integration in the Central West region; and seeing through the completion of a new, four-storey patient tower at Etobicoke General Hospital.
In the time ahead, Osler’s Board of Directors will strike a search committee to lead the recruitment process to find a new President and CEO.
