The search is on to find a new full-time Chief of Police to lead the Peel Regional Police.
The Peel Police Services Board, which previously approved a plan that included a competitive process to retain an executive scout firm to conduct a Canada-wide search, has contracted the services of Odgers Berndtson.
The search firm will now coordinate the community and stakeholder consultation process, which includes working with the Peel Regional Police Association and the Senior Officers Association.
Community consultations will also include a public survey, which is being launched Apr. 15 and will be live for three weeks. Managed by Odgers Berndtson, the link to the survey can be found on the Peel Police Services Board website (peelpoliceboard.ca) or at https://survey.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d05E7EChiC5doG1.
The information gathered will be used by Odgers Berndtson to draft a job description that will be made public later this spring.
Further information will be made public throughout the process.
Chris McCord took over as the service’s interim chief in January, succeeding Jennifer Evans. Evans retired after serving six years Peel police chief.
