Mississauga is now home to a brand-new Peel police headquarters, after moving the facility from Brampton where it was stationed for nearly 45 years.
A number of bureaus, including corporate communications and human resources, in addition to the police chief’s management group, have taken up residence in the large 92,000 square foot facility, located on Mississauga Road near Medowvale Boulevard. The new space has also meant the creation of more than 230 jobs.
With the recent population boom in Peel Region, the facility gives police in the city’s west end the space needed to not only be more effective, but more efficient as different departments are now able to easily communicate with one another in an effort to improve service to people in the region.
A museum is also part of the new headquarters at 7160 Mississauga Road. Peel police are hoping the public will visit to learn more about what helped shape the service into what it has become today.
