Police shut down illegal cannabis dispensary

Peel Regional Police investigators conducted a search warrant under the Cannabis Act at a premise located in the area of Hurontario Street and Dundas Street at Mississauga on Jan. 18.

As a result, a total of 31 pounds of dried cannabis that was ready for sale, several cannabis edibles, some related Cannabidiol oil products (CBD) and approximately $10,000 in Canadian currency was seized.

Four employees were located within the premise and charged under the Act for unlawfully selling cannabis. The following individuals will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton at a later date: Luis Gutierrez-Sanchez, a 27-year-old Milton man; Jose Martinez, a 22-year-old Toronto man; Michael Martinez-Gonzalez, a 19-year-old Toronto man; and Quang Phan, a 49-year-old Toronto man.
