Local hockey fans will be receiving a special holiday gift this year when the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour makes a stop in Mississauga on Dec. 22 and 23. It will be the fifth annual holiday broadcast airing nationally on Sportsnet.
Rogers Hometown Hockey celebrates Canada’s hockey heritage through family-friendly activities, world-class storytelling, star-studded guest appearances and musical acts. The free festival concludes every Sunday with an outdoor viewing party of the Sportsnet broadcast of an NHL game hosted by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone.
Mississauga’s hockey heritage runs deep with many prominent NHL players coming from the city. This list includes NHL all-stars John Tavares and Jason Spezza and former hockey greats Paul Coffey and the late Johnny Bower, just to name a few.
