City of Mississauga officials are asking everyone to take a pledge to be vigilant around water as they play host to ‘Sauga Swim Safety Day,’ to launch city Canada 150 water safety initiatives at municipal pools and facilities.
Activities will include a free swim, colouring and story time for the kids along with mock emergency demonstrations, lifeguard rescue techniques and a hands-on rescue clinic. As well, it’s your chance to meet personnel from Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, Peel Regional Police and Peel Regional Paramedics Services.
The event coincides with Drowning Prevention Week (July 16 to 22) across Canada.
Sauga Swim Safety Day runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on July 18 at the Lions Club of Credit Valley Outdoor Pool, 20 Rosewood Drive, Mississauga.
