The City of Brampton celebrates Canada Day July 1 at Chinguacousy Park.

As part of the entertainment program, from noon to 10 p.m., Tyler Shaw performs at 7:15 p.m., followed by Tom Cochrane and Red Rider at 8:30 p.m.

The event also includes free, fun activities for festival-goers of all ages, including family performances on the community stage, children’s entertainers. vendor stalls and, for a nominal fee, an inflatable kids zone.

The official opening, with Mayor Jeffrey and members of council, is at 2:30 p.m. on the community stage, with celebratory cupcakes to follow. The party will conclude with fireworks at 10 p.m. to commemorate Canada’s 151st birthday.

Chinguacousy Park is located at 9050 Bramalea Road. On-site parking is very limited. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle service offered by Brampton Transit. Shuttle locations will include: Mount Pleasant GO Station, Trinity Common Terminal, Gore Meadows Community Centre and Sheridan College.
