The Y2 Entrepreneur Conference is a two-part event where high-school students between 12 and 18 years old learn how to bring an innovative idea from concept to customer validation to pitch presentation. The event is supported by a coach and three workshops and participants can articulate the value of their item, estimate financial performance and present to a panel of judges.
The top two teams are awarded dinners with experienced entrepreneurs that will help them continue to learn on their entrepreneurial journey.
One of the biggest advantages to this conference is the fact that entrepreneurs can work with a team they have already established a connection with, can work with a new team that they meet at the event, and everyone has the opportunity to build entrepreneurship skills that they would need in the future.
Every student is encouraged to build a solution to solve a meaningful problem, and is supported by mentorship, opportunities to expand their personal and professional networks, and instruction from entrepreneurs. This also fosters tremendous creativity among students, giving students an opportunity to think outside the box and find solutions to currently-occurring problems.
The next conference takes place February 29 and March 7 at Seneca College’s Newnham campus.
